The Presentations
Congratulations to all the groups for doing a good job. The topics were interesting and definitely
"controversial"! The audience also did well in discussing the topics in an academic manner.
**Reminder** In one week the other two parts of the project are due: the group written summary and the individual personal reflection on the experience.
Please remember to post on the blog this week two pieces of feedback about the presentations.
Have a great weekend!

one is same sex marrige and our topic(ban smoking from schoool ground). Also, eveyone did good jop on their work. This was my first time for group project and presentation. This experience gave me to improve work with other people. Thank you for our group.
I like my group presentation, the crop circle, and the one about smoking. The crop circle is a new topic for me and therefore I did a lot of researches to prepare for the presentation. I felt that the crop circles are amazing. Also, the presentation about smoking makes me learn about the importances of my health. Although I am not a smoker, with this presentation in my mind, I will never try to smoke in the future.
I like the compare between transit system in Canada and other countries such as China in Boris' group. Also I believe the group that talked about smoking brought out a really controversial question ----"Should people smoke in the campus while second hand smoking influence people's health negatively?".
I'm one of members doing the "ban smoking on campus" presentation. Therefore, this is my feedback for other presentations.
The group who represented “Crop circle”
• They provide a lot of pictures in their presentation, all of them are very interested and beautiful arts.
• Interesting topic. It makes me curious about who have made those crop circles, and for what reasons. Vote.
The group who represented “Public transit”
• They gave three stories about 3 locations: Vancouver, China, and Europe. So I have a good picture about public transit around the world. For example: public transportation price is cheap in China and Europe. And in Europe, they don’t have time transfer between transportations.
• They explain very detail about the advantage and disadvantage of public transit.
The group who represented “Same sex marriage”
• World map of same sex marriage: death penalty for same sex marriage in some countries in the world.
• They explain why same sex marriage should be allowed and shouldn’t be allowed. They show me two points of view about same sex marriage with very good reasons.
Finally, all groups did very good job on their presentation.
I like all the presentations especially our group's and the one talks about crop circle. I like our's because we put lots of effort on it and we overcome many difficulties. I like the one with crop circle because it's so mysterious, I like this stuff.
I thought the presentations were awsome. Everyone did a lot of work in putting them together. I really liked how everyone had a uniqueness to their presentations. For example comparing and contrast, hot topics such as same sex marraiges, and controversial issues
Feedback About the Presentation
I liked everybody. Especially social topics like smoking and homosexual marriage. The team presenting on homosexual issue bought me with its simplicity and sincerity. It is sometimes hard to open up to the audience and use one’s tongue not for the purpose of hiding the thoughts. It was interesting to look at the classification table where fully heterosexual looks like just one line of text out of 5 degrees of bisexualism. So I shared my change of attitude towards gays after my immigration to Canada. When I just came I was quite judgmental. But now I do not see any damage or damage to the society including its reproductive function. These people are usually peaceful and progressive. The mankind has other problems to worry about.
The topic of smoking was also touching. Everybody has friends that struggle with this habit. I was always curious on what they feel. Do they perceive it as a part of themselves that they do not want to rid of? I still did not get the answer this time.
I liked crop circle team for their neutrality. So again it was quite sincere. It contrasts to modern information world over-flooded with persuasive materials. All people did not try to show off, but on the other hand they were involved in their theme.
And of course I liked our research on social aspects of transit systems.

I could see the effort from the presentations we had on last Wednesday. Every topics were presented that day were interesting...and of course...controvercial...
I liked our topic, the same sex marriage..of course..but i also liked the presentation on crop circle. I always like mysterious topics ,such as alien, UFO, or even zombies. The presentation from the group made me understand more about this topic. Thank you guys!!
Sorry I left early that day, so I missed other groups' presentations. For my own presentation, I enjoyed how each of us have our own topic to present. I also liked the vote at the end.
I like the sex marrige and smoking from the other groups. The reason I like their topics are because they are detail and has lot of realiestic thought about the actual life today. They give me a lot inspire about I should be more catious about the world.
The two topics discussed in class that I liked most where the ones about gay marriages and the UFO's. I found that the gay marriage group informed us of both sides of the arguments without offending either side. Although the UFO's was very interesting and kept the audience entertained. Both groups preformed well and portrayed their arguments and supported their points.
